Personal Narrative: A WALK WITH MY GRANDMA

It was a beautiful day for a walk. My grandma and I decided to go for what I thought was a normal walk around town. Our usual route was throughout the neighborhood. I was a bit in pain but i had a lot of strength. "So grandma", I asked. "Are we going to go for a longer time or a shorter time?''

"Today we're going for a really long time",she replied. "Whats that supposed to mean?" "Well I wanted to see Jonelle's grave stone." "Wait one second, that doesn't mean we have to walk from here to-", and before I could finish she said .... '' Perth Amboy'' ''Grandma you do realize we have to walk through 3 1/2 towns to get to Perth Amboy, right?"

"Yes, yes I do." Well can't you just call your friend Jackie or Aunt Ada?", I asked in a concerned voice. " I don't really want to bother anyone , so no". "Awww come on." As we walked  through the front door, we felt the sun glaring down on our backs. As we began walking we felt the icey cool rush of cars flying by.

We heard the sounds of birds chirping, bee's buzzing and cars rushing by. "Hey grandma are we there yet ?", I repeated over and over again. "No",she answered. As we pulled into the Race Way, I asked grandma for the money we brought with us  so I could fill up my bike tires. "Ok", she replied. "Do you need help?" "Yes", I said being tired on the inside but full of energy on the outside.

When I strolled into the mini-store, it smelled of small sweets and salty snacks. Cheeto's, Dorito's and other goods, boy I became so hungry, so tempted to get something , but I had to stay focused. I quickly got a snack, a drink, and a stick of gum.

At last our journey began again. As we came closer to the rail road tracks, I told my grandma we had to go straight, but she wouldn't listen.

So she decided to take the long way. It was going to be a long time, so I knew we had to take breaks in between. As we went over a bridge, we saw a plat that attracted lots of bee's, so I knew we had to be careful. "Hey grandma, you want to turn around?, you look pretty tired," I asked.

"We can't stop now!", she yelled from a distance

"Grandma, why are you smiling?"

She looked at me and laughed.

"Look", she said while laughing, "Look straight ahead", and so I looked, and to my surprise, ahead of us was home. It turned out that after our endlessly seeming walk, all we had done was walk in a big circle, I smiled, grabbed her hand and hugged her close.

"Grandma,"I said,"lets go eat."
